It is crazy how fast our house is being built. I thought I would post a few comparison pictures for you to see the difference. The first picture was taken the day they trenched, June 18th. The second picture was the day they poured the foundation, July 18th. And the third picture is the day the put the windows in, August 18th.
So the last couple of weeks we have been asking Preston if he wants a brother or a sister. The last two-three days he has been favoring one over the other. And he was right! The ultrasound tech told us the baby is stubborn so we are in for some trouble. Maybe I should’ve told Preston that before I took this video….
Yep that’s right we will be having a baby girl around January 18th!
A few weeks ago we got to go visit Auntie Molly and Uncle Neil in their apartment before they moved. It was a lot of fun to go to all of the places they always tell us about. Preston got a new tent bed that helped him sleep through the night in a strange place. We also got to go to the zoo while we were there. Preston wasn’t very happy when we first got to the zoo, but after we saw a few animals he kept signing “more”, so we would take him to another animal. I think he ended up having a lot of fun. After this trip he started to recognize more people in pictures. We could show him a picture of Molly and Neil and he would point to them when we asked where they were. It amazes me how much information he is constantly soaking up!
Life continues to be crazy and busy in the Bond household. Preston has continued to learn new signs and he is starting to say more words now too. However, for now his initial interest in the potty has disappeared. Preston is such a big helper around the house. He helps me make my bed every morning and puts his clothes away. He also cleans up his toys and helps me in the kitchen. At Preston’s 15 month check up he weighed in at 23.1 lbs (10-25%) and 32 inches (50-75%) tall. The doctor said that he is growing good. He had to get more shots. He got a fever this last weekend for a couple days as a result, but he seems to be feeling better now. His top two molars are almost completely through and he has another tooth on the bottom in the front.
Last week my mom was able to come and visit us. Preston loved having her around and we were very sad to see her leave. She helped Preston to learn to eat all of his snacks in the high chair, how his toys work when they have all of the pieces and how to stop pulling my hair.
Ryan’s birthday was this past weekend. We got to celebrate it all weekend long. Preston helped him open presents and make his cake. He is going to be soo much fun at christmas!!!
I had another doctor’s appointment today. It was kind of uneventful. I did get to hear the heartbeat and everything is moving along. She said I can find out the sex of the baby in two and a half weeks. I’m not sure if I am ready to know yet. It’s kind of fun getting to look at all of the boy and girl stuff!
Preston is growing leaps and bounds. Yesterday his first molar cut through. We also started swim lessons this week. He is having fun being in the water every day. This week Preston has started signing drink, fish (we just started eating goldfish) and potty for the first time tonight. He is showing all of the signs of being ready to start potty training. We bought a potty and have been letting him sit on it. He tells us when he needs a new diaper (pee and poop). Now we just need to get him to tell us before he goes.
On a completely random note, yesterday a rock got kicked up with the edger while the gardener’s were working in the back yard and we now have a cool rain affect on our back door. I wish it was safe cause it looks really cool, but alas we will be getting it fixed as soon as we can.
I’m sorry I haven’t been blogging very much lately. We have been busy with getting everything finalized for our house and with my new business. It has been a lot of fun picking out all of the things for our house. They started trenching last week and hopefully things will go smoothly over the next six months. Here is a picture of what the lot looked like before they did anything, and a picture of what the house is going to look like when it is done.
We are so excited for our house. Right now the deadline for them to complete the house is December 31st (for tax purposes). However we also have another deadline that we need them to finish by. Around January 18th we will be welcoming a new baby into the world. We are very excited! We went to the doctor last week and got our first ultrasound. It is amazing how they can see the baby so early. Here is a picture of our newest addition.
A few weeks ago we bought Preston a “Baby Signing Time” video. He loves it! He has started to sign about a half dozen things. He signs Baby, Time, Eat, More, Cracker and Dog. I will try and get video of this soon. The fun part is when we are talking about the new baby he will sign baby. We know that he will be a great big brother and a big help to me!
For Father’s Day I needed some new pictures of Preston. So we went to the park one morning and had a blast. Preston loves playing at the park. He shoots through the tunnels and speeds down the slides.
I hope everyone had a great Father’s Day! Preston and I are so grateful to have the best dad/husband around! He always makes us feel loved and does anything we need!! We love you!
For Preston’s Birthday he got a bike seat and a helmet. We actually went on his first bike ride awhile ago, but I figured it was about time that I posted it on here. He loved riding the bike! He hated having the helmet on though. (He doesn’t like any kind of hat on his head right now) Hopefully he will get more used to the helmet the more we ride with him.
Last weekend we decided to take a last minute trip to Disneyland to use our free tickets. We ended up getting a really good deal on staying at the Grand Californian. We have always wanted to stay there and it is so cool how you walk right out of the hotel and you are in Downtown Disney. We got up and left at 5 am on Friday. We were hoping that Preston would sleep on the way down there…no such luck. So when we got to Disneyland we went to see Captain EO (which they just brought back and Ryan has been dyeing to see). Preston sat in his own seat inbetween us. A few minutes before it was over Preston couldn’t hold up his head any longer and he was asleep. It was so cute.
It was nice to be able to just take a relaxing approach to the day. We rode some rides and had some lunch. Which we have decided that we have to stop eating out now that Preston gets a kids meal we can’t afford it anymore!!!
We also got to go to Toon Town and Preston loved being able to walk around and play.
We were really tired about this point so we tried to go back to the hotel to take a nap…Preston decided that he wanted to go swimming first. It was a lot of fun to watch him in the pool because he was playing with one of the kids in the pool and just splashing up a storm. Pool time this summer will be a lot of fun!
It was a fun last minute trip and I am glad that we got to go. I can’t wait until we get to go again!
I finally took Preston to get his first haircut. We took him to see Linda. This makes 4 generations of our family that she has cut. Preston wasn’t very good at sitting still, but we were able to get the job down. I think he looks much better now.
