I normally have nothing to say when I get asked this question, but I have an answer now! I just started my own business. I am an independent consultant for Shelf Reliance. The company started by designing can rotating racks. They have recently started producing their own line of food storage. Most of their fruits, vegetables and meats are freeze dried. Which means they taste amazing with no added sugars!
They have also created a “Q”, like Netflix. You can set up all of the food that you want to receive and they will send it to you every month. It’s fun to see what is coming next month so that we can try new things. I am excited to have Preston try all of the fruit and veggies. I think he will love them! I am so excited to actually know where I am going with my family’s food storage. Our church has asked us to have one year worth of food stored for our family. I know that Shelf Reliance is the answer to getting organized and storing the food that we would need in case anything ever happened.
So, the reason why I am telling you all of this is Shelf Reliance has just launched their Home Parties. I have become a consultant, which means that I get to come to your homes and help you host parties. We have GREAT host benefits, which include free food storage. So if you need an update to your food storage, want to get started with food storage or you just want to support me in my new business please give me a call and visit www.shelfreliance.com
Ok really we got the “lot”. Which means they are going to build us a house! She said she is hoping to get us in the new house by Thanksgiving! We are so excited!
We just got back from another great trip to Utah. On our way up there we turned Preston’s car seat around so he could face forward. He loved it at first until all of the headlights from the oncoming cars kept waking him up. So it was little bit of a rough drive up there, but once we got there (about 2 am) he was excited as could be and we had to force him to go back to sleep.
On Saturday morning Ryan and I got up and went to a session of our semi-annual church conference. It was a wonderful experience to get to see our Prophet in person and to feel the spirit so strong. Preston stayed with Aunt Aimee and they became best friends.
On Sunday we woke up to the ground being covered in snow. We decided we would stay inside for Easter this year! Preston loved having more eggs to play with and he loved dying the eggs again.
On Monday we went to Rodizio grill for lunch. I forgot to take a picture this time, but the last time we went Preston was about 4 months old and was barely sitting up. I remember him sucking on the table cloth because that’s as tall as he was. This time he was excited to try some of everything that we had. He loved eating all of the meat and getting to try so many different things. He was so full that he of course passed out in the car afterwards.
Tuesday was Preston’s birthday. I can’t believe how fast this year has gone by! Preston got to spend the day with his cousins. We got to celebrate Sammy’s 4th birthday (which was on March 30) and Preston’s first birthday. We also had an easter egg hunt and easter dinner with all of the kids.
We did a little bit of shopping on Wednesday and Thursday and then we had to leave on Friday. Preston did good in the car on the way home. When we got home and put him to bed he slept the whole night without making a peep. He was happy to be home in his own bed! I guess even for a 1 year old there’s no place like home! We had a great trip and I miss my family already!
Here’s some pictures we took downtown on temple square.
We had our first Easter celebration today. It was a lot of fun to watch Preston get so excited about everything. I didn’t think Preston would be interested in dying eggs, but he loved it! He would put the egg on the spoon and then Ryan would drop it into the cup. He wanted to keep doing it over and over again. He cracked the last egg, so of course we had to eat it! I don’t think he really liked it, but he wanted to keep trying it so that’s good.
Preston had a lot of fun running around the backyard picking up the Easter eggs. He was even more excited when he figured out that there was something inside. He wouldn’t put the egg in the basket until he had gotten another one. He always wanted one in his hand. We finally got him to come inside and eat the “candy” from his eggs. Afterwards he didn’t want to eat his dinner. After dinner he went straight back to the eggs. I guess he is a real kid who loves his treats!
Last year Preston was 6 days old on Easter. Here is a picture of Preston inside his basket last year. He has grown up so fast!
Preston is so lucky to have family in so many places. We will be in Utah on his actual birthday, so we got to celebrate his birthday a few weeks early at home. We had a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse party. He loves to watch the show and to dance to the Hot Dog song. Preston of course got spoiled with LOTS of presents! We were happy to have almost all of his family here, including his second cousin Haydenn.
Before the party started Preston was in a really good mood. He had woken up from his nap and came out to see all of the balloons that we had decorated with. He was so excited that he kept running from one ballon to the next. It was almost as if he knew something was about to happen.
Preston loved opening presents. He loves putting things into each other, so we probably spent as much time taking the presents out of bags as we did putting his presents back into the bags. He got lots of new books and toys and clothes.
Preston wasn’t so sure about the whole cake business. He kept looking at me to make sure it was ok for him to eat it. He finally started eating some of it after I got him a fork. I guess I haven’t given him enough sweets or let him eat enough messy things with his hands.
All in all I think it was a great party and I had a lot of fun planning it. Thank you to everyone who came and brought such thoughtful gifts. There is no question that Preston is a very loved little boy!
Life has been crazy here in the Bond home. Sorry I haven’t blogged much recently, but I did want to mention two things. First I have really been struggling lately with what to make for dinner. I don’t know why it is so hard for me to think of new ideas and what to cook, but it really stresses me out and I sit and worry about it all day long. One day I found a website that gave me all of the answers that I needed. It did cost $12 for the first three months, but it paid for it’s self in the first week because we didn’t go out to dinner at all. If any of you are interested please follow this link and explore the site and see if it is something that would work for you. (Plus I get points if you sign up through my link. )
The second exciting news that I wanted to post was about our house search. In the beginning of January we started looking for a larger house. We couldn’t find anything on the market and ended up coming across a few new home builders. After going back and forth with a couple of builders we have finally found a plan that we like. We signed a contract last week with them. It is contingent on them being able to purchase the land for us at the price that we can afford. We are hoping to have a final answer by the end of this week, but we are very excited to be building a house together for our future family.
I know this is almost a week late, but Happy St. Patrick’s day!!! My mom sent Preston a cute shirt and hat to wear. He did not want to have anything to do with wearing the hat, but he was happy to play with it. The only green thing I made this year was green rice krispy treats. Preston was happy that I shared a little with him.
I can’t believe that it’s been 11 months already, but alas it has come. Preston continues to grow each and every day. Just this week I feel like he is doing so many more things. He is walking a lot better and faster. Last night he walked all the way into his room got a book, brought it out to Ryan who read it to him and then he walked back to his room and got another book and brought it back to daddy. He did it again tonight when Grandma and Poppy were here. I’m so excited that he loves to read! It’s amazing how much he knows how to do. He also has started to put objects into containers. He loves to open things and find something new inside. He has learned how to push the buttons on Scout (his personalized dog that sings to him). He can push buttons down on toys. Ryan has been working with him on playing ball. Sometimes he rolls it, but he also tries to throw it.
Preston hasn’t been too excited about baby food the last couple of weeks so I have started trying to make more dinners that he can have some of. He is so excited to eat dinner with us now. He gets his own bowl and fork (Which both normally end up on the floor by the end of dinner). I think his favorite new food from this week is plain ground beef. Go figure.
Another big thing that we have been working on this week is weaning. I still have mixed feelings about this, but it was time. Preston has been a real sport about the whole thing and takes the bottles just fine. It’s been almost two weeks since we started the process and we are almost there. After making myself really sick (not on purpose) and having to go backwards a few steps we have made it. The last time Preston nursed was Wednesday morning. We have all lost a little sleep in the process as Preston is now getting up at 5:30 am. I can’t wait for the time change to see if that will help him sleep a little later.
In the past two-three weeks Preston has started walking. I can’t believe that he is walking already! 10 months is way too early. It is really fun to play with him right now because he interacts with me so much. Even this morning he was playing with his toys and he brought me a gear (a piece of a toy) and was just so proud of himself for bringing me something that I was so happy to get. I’m so glad that I get to spend my days with this sweet boy! I have the best job ever!!! Here’s video of Preston walking. It was taken from Feb 3-Feb 15.
